I. Vocabulary
- Profession /prəˈfeʃn/ a type of job that needs special training or skill, especially one that needs a high level of education
- What do you do for a living? = What’s your job?
- Payslip /ˈpeɪ.slɪp/ a piece of paper given to someone who is employed to show how much money they have earned and how much tax has been taken off
- to work in shifts: to work in turns, to work at different times on different days, to not work from 9-5
- Resign /rɪˈzaɪn/ to give up a job or position by telling your employer that you are leaving
- Vacancy /ˈveɪkənsi/ a job that is available for somebody to do
EX: There’s a vacancy in the accounts department. - Fishmonger /ˈfɪʃmʌŋɡə(r)/ someone who sells fish, especially from a shop
- to be on the dole = be unemployed = to be out of work
- Dole money: tiền trợ cấp thất nghiệp
- Flexitime/ˈfleksitaɪm/ a system in which employees work a particular number of hours each week or month but can choose when they start and finish work each day
